This week I saw on local TV that there is a large retirement community in San Miguel but I cannot find any info on this. The builder of these independent and assisted living facilities was on TV but I did not get his name. Thank you.

I’m considering moving to San Miguel permanently from Dallas, Texas. I’m interested in knowing the requirements, benefits, drawbacks, medical and health services, etc. Basically, I would like to know everything which a move would entail.

      Thank you very much!!

I love San Miguel de Allende, but I have to stay here because of my kids.

Hi! My grown daughter and I would like to enjoy a week’s vacation. We envision a spa-pampered experience complimented by some shopping and dining. Is San Miquel de Allede safe for such a beautiful experience? What accommodations and spa do you recommend?

      Hi Lou Ann,

I too am interested in retirement facilities in San Miguel. A place with apt. with meals furnished. Have you had any replies at all to your inquiry? It seems there must be something like that for those who are too old to want to live alone in an apt, fix all meals etc.

I stay at the Posada de la Aldea. It is well located and has a pool. If you stay for a month then a full breakfast is included and the rate is approx 65US a night. check out tripadvisor.com for some guest reviews.
My friends and I stay there for a month every year and think that it is one of the best accomodations for the price in San Miguel.

    10. Hello,
I found out about San Miquel by chance. I believe I was drawn because of the name meaning…St. Michael. He is my Archangel. I would like to come and visit and who knows maybe stay for awhile.Any suggestions…I am young Italian 50 year old who may come alone or with my daughters.
      Thank you.

I’m suggesting the hotel Quinto Loreto. It’s on Calle de Loreto No.15 I think they save a web site if you Google the hotel’s name and perhaps San Miguel. Their eMail address is hgloreto@cybermasta.com They’ll reserve a room on-line.

They also have plenty of parking spaces on the grounds if you’re bringing a car.

Anyway, they want around $450 pesos a night, for a room with TV, telephone, etc. They have a breakfast/lunch restaurant. They’re also next to the artizan’s market and a mega farmers’ mercado in San Miguel. Plus, it’s an easy walk to the center of town.

      Good luck!

      Hello,

I’d very much like to travel to San Miguel Allende with my two daughters. However, not sure if this would be safe for 3 ladies traveling into Mexico.

Now, I also would like to know about the whole San Miguell Allende experience, cultural events, etc. I am planning to travel approx. late December.
Any insight would be highly appreciated it. Regards, Elena

Have been to San Miguel (SMA} every year since for 10 years. It is the most perfect place to go. VERY EXPENSIVE. Read Linda Ellerbee’s ‘Take Big Bites’ to really find out about SMA. It is perfect. I drive down from Houston and it takes 2 days and I am a paraplegic. Go. There is a saying “People go to Flordia to die and to San Miguel to live”
