Hello, I go to San Miguel yearly from December 22 – 25. Are there any art exhibits, art sales, and things to do. I notice all the sales etc. are in the beginning of December. Thanks Irma Sherman

I would recommend an excursion to the nearby city of Guanajuato. It is the capital of the state of Guanajuato and home to the University of GTO. It is a beautiful city with many things to do, and lots of streets to wander and “get lost” in. Diego Rivera was born there and there is a museum in his childhood home. You can take a bus from SMA, it is not expensive and takes approximately one hour or so. You do NOT need a car in GTO. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. I have always stayed at the Hotel Posada Sante Fe http://www.posada-santafe.com/index.asp which is old and wonderful and right of the main Jardin and in the middle of it all! I will be there the first week of December and can’t wait! Enjoy your visit!

Hi All,
Some friends and I are staying in San Miguel de Allende for two weeks towards the end of December. Given, we will be there for a good amount of time; are there fun overnight excursions/field trips to other towns/cities that we should know about? We’re into adventuring culturally, socially, any activities, we just want to know what our options are.

At 76 I do not go about much but loved San Miquel when my son and his 4 children were there for several months. I hve a limited incokme and need to be close to the center of town as I no longer drive. Any suggestions?

Is there golf in San Miguel? I read somewhere about a 9 hole course with an 18 hole course under development.

There is a very good guitar trio which performs a combination fo traditional and popular Spanish (not hispanic) music ranging from buleiras to Gypsy Kings. La Fragua, Wednesday nights beginning at 21:00. Nominal cover charge. Well worth it.

hi Robert. I am not aware of Flamenco dancing but for Salsa go to Mama Mia’s on Umaran. It has nightly musical treats.
