Hi Paul, wow PAV1582 sure does not know what the heck he is talking about , of course you are suppose to be on the balls of your feet in an athletic position , I guess if Pav was right 95% of the PGA is wrong , anyway try this , try not to swing as hard maybe that is why you are losing your balance , then swing harder and increase it until you reach the point where you lose balance then you have it , just a suggestion , it sounds like you are doing everything else right

I never saw a response concerning a new golf club in SMA. Isn’t there one out on the road to Las Grutas( At that intersection?) Thanks for your reply.

I’d like to correct a few errors in the information regarding Club de Golf Malanquin…
I suggest calling the club for current info regarding when you can play and the current fees.
If you are a member of the club you not only have privileges at the clubs mentioned, but also at nearly 100 courses throughout Mexico. Some of the best golf in Mexico is available within one hour of San Miguel in Queretaro. One comment that rings very true…Malanquin is one tough golf course! As a former PGA pro, I can attest to the difficulty. A 6 or 7 handicap at Malanquin will regularly beat the pants off of most scratch golfers on their home course!
The caddy fees quoted are for a “B” caddy and the fee does not include a tip which should be 40 to 50 pesos. “A” caddies are around $200 pesos including a tip. “C” caddies are inexperienced for the most part (mostly kids working week-ends and after school) and are about $100 pesos including a tip.
Forget the Nicklaus course…it’s not happening, but Ventanas de San Miguel is, and it’s just on the north edge of town. Should be open soon. Ask at their office in town.

I played Malanquin in 2005. 9 holes only. They had rental clubs then but it was a mongrel’s bag – no two clubs alike! The 5 wood was decent so I used it a lot. The course is decent – probably like a typical muni course in the States. If I remember correctly, there is a neat par 3 with a big drop in elevation. I hired a caddie who was ok.
I keep hearing rumors of a Nicklaus course…

I will be in SMA April 17-25,looking for someone to golf a game or two with. I’m about a 18 handicap and love the game, but just have fun with it. I hear there is a new course opening this month. Is that true. I also was wondering if I could rent clubs.
